Hello! So, in my old computer I had an ATI 5550 and in my CURRENT computer I have a 6670.

I realise the 5550 is actually the better card, but I think I'll go out and get a new one anyway, I am thinking about a 7750 due to the PSU being only 450w (and sadly, the "newer" computer was pre-built from PC World :(  my old one wasn't prebuilt).

My older computer (which, older doesn't mean worse) I managed to overlock the card in the CCC by putting the sliders up to full and never had any issues. If I however, raise the sliders with my newer computer (6670) I can only really get the performance up 7/10ths of the way, while having to leave the memory clock at stock. Any higher and I get a blue screen.

Now, IIRC the BSOD is a stop x101 which is to do with not getting enough vcore (I believe) which I would need to raise in the bios. However, I don't really want to and will just leave it as is.

So my question is, because the card gives me shit if I overclock it with the sliders and has an issue with vcore, does that mean if I buy the 7750 it will instantly give me vcore issues because it's a more powerful card? I don't really understand the vcore (hence asking) or should it actually be fine

TLDR?

Despite my 6670 giving me BSOD x101 if I OC it (fine if I don't) does that mean the 7750 (at stock values) will be LIKELY to give me the BSOD since it would draw more power from the PSU or is it because the 6670 was overclocked.

I believe both cards require a 400w PSU.

Old comp - AMD dual core black edition 3.4ghz, 8gig ram, 5550
New comp intel i5 2320 (I think) 8gig ram, 6670

Both win 7
