How do I increase the speed of my CPU fan?

Hello, so according to core temp my idle tempperature is ~30C. To me this is a bit high considering I'm using a Hyper 212 Evo. I installed this cooler on the weekend.

So the fan speed according to HWMonitor (FANIN0) is 670RPM. Isn't this a bit low? I want a cool CPU so I was thinking of boosting it to 1200RPM, or whatever is best for better cooling.

How would I go about increasing the speed of my CPU fan? I've been into the bios and there are a couple of settings: Automatic, Manual and some other wierd option. I tried using all of them but I couldn't change the speed of the CPU so I put it back to Auto I think.

Please tell me if I should do this or if it will affect my CPU too by the way.

Cheers.

That's pretty standard idle temps, bro. I idle at basically the same temp with my Hyper 212.

You could use SpeedFan or something if you're having a hard time with the BIOS, but really the BIOS manual settings is where it's at.

your bios should have an option for fan speed/temp ratio.... on my gigabyte board it looks something like PWM ratio and it ranges from .75 up to 2.50. i honestly had mine put to the max of 2.50 because my hyper 212 doesn't make that much noise anyways at the highest ratio and it adjusts itself automatically.

Your idle temp doesn't really tell you if you'll be ok overclocking. In general, and it varies a little bit, keeping your CPU temps under 70-75C is considered safe during overclocking; it's best if you're in the 60Cs though.
