Hi there!
I'm about to buy a computer and found one with the following specs.

Cooling: Antec 300 (2 Antec fans 1x120mm, 1x140mm en 2 CoolerMaster Blue LED fans 2x120mm)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.0Ghz
Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro
RAM: Corsair Dominator 4GB DDR2 @1066Mhz
Graphics Card: Sparkle GeForce GTX260 Core 216

Thanks!

I will add that 4 GB RAM make BF3 loading times painfully long (up to 3 minutes) so flags may be already captured before you enter the game ( i have 4GB but il be upgrading, thats how i know). And your GPU is pretty weak i have GTS 450 (which is better than yours) and i need to play on mixed setting between medium, low and high but no ULTRA. Plus you have dual core 3.0GHz processor which is not enough for BF3 to work well when there is allot of shooting and explosions, you may experience FPS drops up to 35 FPS and your resolution is going to kill it because im using lower resolution monitor and im still getting the FPS drops. And for Arma, Arma is RAM and CPU eater so you would probably need to put your rendering on lower to get decent FPS at big fights (decent 30-40). So yeah that PC is not for playing newer games.

He lied you... Well to a certain point, singleplayer is still playable on HIGH setting on 30 FPS but multiplayer is the thing that people stay for and for someone to play BF3 multiplayer on Ultra he needs to have strong PC. I dont know what to say those PC specs are good in one place but bad in others. Even my PC specs are starting to feel old and if you buy that PC now you would probably need to upgrade your PC in half a year, and if you ask me i would save up some more money and buy better PC and buy BF4 :D

BF3 medium, BF4 not even on low. Arma 2 should work on medium but on rendering distance on pretty low and don't expect Arma 3 to be even close to working on that PC. Oh and mark somones answer as best answer. MEEE MARK MEEE *ehem* be serious Mr.Jaffa-Cake.

First off, the biggest bottleneck here is your memory, its DDR2 which means your motherboard is rather dated, next it your CPU, then is your video card or GPU. For single player you should be able to play either at low to possibly medium settings. I would ask you first, how much are you paying for this computer as you may be able to find a better or atleast more upgradable one for the same price and second I would ask is what is the power supply in it?

Here is a build that would be both upgradable as well as capable of playing on high (not extreme or ultra) settings on both in single player and atleast medium settings on both in multiplayer. you should also note that it uses hybrid crossfire, which may not be as good as two dedicated GPU's it is certainly better then a single. It only needs an OS which I'm assuming you should be able to come across one.

NO.

-ARMA 2 is poorly optimized and runs poorly on even high end hardware.

-BF3 will play on that hardware, I've seen it on a system like that before, but at low settings and low resolution.

You need to save up and upgrade, 700-800 will get you a system that can play BF3 well.

I would advise against using a weak card like a 7750 in BF3 as the above poster mentioned. You won't be able to pay the game well at all on that card. BF3 is much more demanding in multi-player when there is over 30+ people, it will cripple you. (Single player BF3 will perform nothing like multi-player)

Get an ASUS GTX760 with a cheap AMD based build, it's 250$ dollars for the graphics card and will handle BF3 on ULTRA/60+FPS.

This is a cheap build that will handle BF3 easily, and should be able to handle BF4 fine too.

Did you read what i wrote. He can play Arma 2 he just needs to get his rendering down. When i say rendering i think about grass, trees and stuff like that.

Well that machine is not really weak. And you dont really need extra good GPU for Arma 3 only RAM and CPU and his RAM and CPU is decent. i have 4Gb RAM too and i play Arma 3 on hight settings.

I think the processor is weak, at least compared to an i5. I think we just have difference perspectives on weak and fast.

ARMA 2 still runs pretty poorly on any of my machines for me and ARMA 3 runs much better, so he can likely run that on medium-high somewhat fine for his resolution.

Does not matter anyways, if he intends to play BF3/4 an upgrade like I posted above will benefit him a lot.
