Right now my old gaming desktop specs are
i7 920 2.67 ghz
500gb
6gb ddr3 1333mhz
gtx 260
700 watts

Been using this old ass desktop for over 4 years now, its still good in average modern games but the more demanding ones just destroys it. Planning to replace the above computer with this gaming laptop.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ Mobile Processor 2.40 GHz 6M Smart Cache, Max Turbo Freq. 3.40 GHz
HDD: 500GB 7200RPM SATA300 Hard Drive [+0]
MEMORY: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3-1600 SODIMM Memory (Corsair or Major Brand)
MOTHERBOARD: Mobile Intel HM87 Express Chipset Mainboard
SOUND: Supreme HD Audio w/ THX True Studio Pro Technology
VIDEO: NVIDIA GTX 770M 3GB PCIe Video (NB-FANGB-201)

how much better would this be for gaming?, both gpu and cpu instensive games. How much watt would a laptop like this usually use? is it a decent deal, the price is 1300 dollars, free shipping. And finally would this laptop be able to play battlefield 4, crysis 3, and arma 3 with smooth fps? Thanks in advance.

Agree while it would be better than your desktop personally I think gaming and laptop do not really go together.

That said it should do OK in games as the GTX 770m is based off of the GTX 670mx(Kepler GK106) but with Nvidia's Boost 2.0 so depending on the cooling solution offered on that laptop would give it up to a 15% increase in performance over the older GPU.

Very demanding games like Crysis 2 or Far Cry 3 may need the resolution turned down to say 1600x900 without antialiasing but beyond that they should play good.

To me the CPU speed seems a bit low but then again I do not play games on my laptop I reserve that for my desktop rigs.

its a "decent" deal and it would smoke your old computer but you will pay a premium for the laptop. maybe better off building a desktop but thats your call. If you got the cash, grab it!
