Can I crossfire a 2gb HD7850 and 1gb HD7850 of the same brand?

I already have a Gigabyte HD7850 2gb and I'm looking to crossfire another card, but due to my lack of money, would I be able to crossfire with the 1gb version of my card? I would therefore have two Gigabyte HD7850's running in crossfire but one would be the 2gb version and the other the 1gb version. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Yes, but the vram will be 1g not 2. I suggest you get another 2g 7850.

What sort of games do you think will suffer from not having that extra vram?

OK. What if I got a different brand of 7850, say the MSI 2gb version (http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-R7850-DDR5-PCI-E-Graphics/dp/B00ACHDL5M/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1379546463&sr=8-5&keywords=7850+2gb), would this still work alongside my Gigabyte one?

Ok that's great :) Thanks for the help, I can now go into this upgrade confident that I know what I'm doing.
