Hi all!

So the lowdown is, I just hooked up my new Dell 27 incher, the U2713HM which was on sale for $560 delivered in Australia, the deal ends today! Normal price is $799.

So there are 2 dark pixels about 6cm left of the centre, only noticeable on white or green background. I played some games and could not see them at all. There is zero backlight bleed which I am very happy about.

Question: Has anyone exchanged a monitor under warranty in its 3rd year? Was your replacement the same model? Am I within my rights to keep the monitor a couple years then ask for a replacement? (it's a 3 year zero dead pixel warranty).

The 2 pixels don't bother me that much, they are like 2 specs of dirt/dust. If they were bright pixels, I would definitely get it replaced. Thanks in advance for the advice.

For monitors with dead pixels they need to first meat a certain slandered, you must have the amount of pixels dead that is normally listed by the company that sold you the monitor before they would even consider a replacement or refurbish. Sadly the number is usually about 5-7 but normally anything less then that they won't. most monitors warranty's vary some are only for one month some are for 3 years you would be better off contacting dell directly on your issue.

Thanks for your reply.

I know I'm well within my right to ask for a replacement right now. It is a zero defect warranty. All I want to know is the answer to my questions above. Has anyone received a newer model in their warranty period? If anyone reads between the lines, you will see where I am going with this :)
