So reading my manual it says that my gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 supports 1.5 SATA but I did not see SATA 1 and that's the kind of hard drive so well this mean I cant use my PC. I've tried turning it on and testing Ubuntu.

Your motherboard supports SATA 1.5Gbps, which is another way of saying SATA 1.0. So your hard drive will work just fine.

SATA 1.5 and SATA I (not SATA 1) are the same.

SATA revision 1.0, or "SATA 1", is the same as SATA I.
