I was attempting to see how far my asus gtx 670 can go. I figured since it was voltage locked i couldn't cause any harm. I got it stable at +175 on the core and 600 on the memory. I attempted to push it to 200 on the core. Unigene valley crashed to the desktop and then i set it back to the original stable OC and ran unigene valley again. It started making a buzzing noise and scored in the mid 1600s, before it scored in the mid 2000s. I score in the 1500s when its on stock settings and makes the noise.

Edit: Some times it makes a whistling sound when exiting programs to desktop.

Oh yeah your PC should be safe. Seriously something similar happened to me. I overclocked my GTX 560 Ti a lot, and then out of no where it started posting way lower scores than usual. It was performing about 2/3's as well as it was supposed to.

But it didn't hurt anything to keep using it (Besides my feelings :( )

That sounds bad. Something similar happened to one of my GTX 560 Ti's. In my experience Nvidia Desktop cards are not very hardy (Especially when overclocked). However all the ones that I have seen broke were EVGA...

OK thanks because I just got my 27" and want to use it for a few days before sending the card in. And I don't get paid until next week. Guess this will be a very productive weekend for homework and assignments.
Killing an innocent video card makes everyone sad.
