I'm looking to upgrade from GTX 550 TI. My specs are ASUS Sabertooth AM3+ mobo, FX-6300, OZ 650 PSU watts, 1600 ddr3 8 gb ram, Acer 23'' LED LCD 1080p. I read about this month's Best Graphics Cards For The Money article. It states the GTX 650 TI boost 2gb and 7850 2gb are the best for $165 range. Is there any benefits pn me choosing an AMD video card over Nvidia video card since I'm using an AM3 mobo? My friends told me to stick with nvidia for long run over AMD, they say AMD loses it's value very quickly comapring with nvidia. I do wanted try with AMD but if its true than I'm staying with Nvidia. Please help me choose or would listen to other video cards also. Thanks..

I play all of those games. My AMD GPU ran all of those maxed out, and you do NOT want to play Hitman with a Nvidia GPU (One of the few games where it kind of matters).

Also one my friends uses an AMD card to video edit and it smokes any Nvidia GPU at that too.

As for Physx: It is a useless gimmick. Even whith my Nvidia cards I turn it off. It is never worth a 20-50% performance drop to make more useless crap cover the screen...

Thanks but I also forgot to mention I play games like GTA 4, NBA 2k13, PES 2013, Hitman, Splinter Cell, Assassin Creed and some video editing / converting. Would that also matter?
