I have a eVGA Z77 FTW MB that needs a 6 pin PCI-E plug, do I use the PCI-E on the Corsair HX850 or is that plug diff, I only have PCI-E left on the PSU, This is so I can do SLI, The plugs I have left are blue that goes into the PSU, Thanks

I found this, There are 2 AUX 6-Pin connectors for PCI-E motherboard power, is that a reg PCI-E plug?

Im confused

midrange (and above) gpu's require extra power, those are what the pci-e wires are for. typically they need 2, 6 and 6/8 pins, depending on the card.
for the mobo, i think those are needed if you oc really high. but i can be wrong about the board part, i never had to use them although i do oc (4-4.5ghz).

so if you have SLI, you will probably need 4 of those, but since you have 850w, you should have them

Cons29, on my mobo, I have 2 6 pin and 2 8 pin, the 8pin is for the cpu and like cuecuemore said, the 6 pin is PCIe, Thanks cuecuemore for clearing that up for me, now I can run SLI when the card comes in the mail
