request for suggestion to solve my problem

my specific control system is operated under win2k pro ,the system is protected under Norton antivirus and now this antivirus is expired and it is necessary to looking for a new Norton antivirus in the mean time all the products of Norton antivirus are now operated under xp,win7,vista,....etc.
this is why I am looking for to solve the problem.
is it possible to install xp on the win2kpro and afterward to install any Norton antivirus which is compatible with xp
pls. advise us

its hard to say if you can install xp on your system without knowing system specs.chances are you can.it sounds like a pretty old machine so norton is not your best bet as its really hard on resources ie it will slow your machine down majorly.on an old machine like that i would use avast antivirus {free},malwarebytes free version,and superantispyware for protection.i would definitely look into upgrading to at least xp.

If you worried about security, you have to go to at least XP, and even that is no longer supported by MS. Yes you can install XP over Win2k as an upgrade with no need to fully wipe and install a new OS, although upgrading can cause other issues such as slowness and application issues.

You may need to upgrade the RAM to get XP running well, although I'm sure your CPU would also be slow.
