Today I was putting my the Kraken x60 I ordered and I ran one of the wires flush to the motherboard. The wires are threaded so I didn't think much of it. When I turned on the PC is shorted, I saw smoke and the system turned off. So I turned unplugged the PC to see what the hell happened and sure enough right about my RAM is a little burn mark on the MoBo. I've now moved the cords and turned it back on and the System fired up. I got an A0 message which on my Gigabye MoBo is normal. So am I out of the woods is there something else I may have damaged, and how woud I check for it?

Solution
just download something like 3dmark or passmark and run it several times. your motherboard can slowly die if you touched something metal to metal, normally rma with void the warranty if you send it back with anything that looks like burn spots
