my WD 1Tb blue wont work!

so i just built my new and first computer and i cant get my system to detect my WD 1Tb blue. i haven't gone into the bios because i don't wanna mess anything up. i only have the sata cable and the other one that i think gives power.
 
Solution
You will need to go into your bios. You won't mess anything up, especially if you don't save any changes. If it's the only drive in your system, make sure it's on port SATA_0. If your motherboard has more than one drive controller, make sure the apprpriate one is enabled and set properly. You need to go into the bios and see if it detects the drive. If it doesn't, try setting the drive controller to IDE and see if it detects it then. If you are running windows 7 or 8, you will eventually want this to work in AHCI mode instead of IDE mode.
