Is there anyway to change the thumb buttons so instead of them being assigned to the keyboard numbers (1, 2, 3, etc) to proper mouse buttons (Mouse button 5, 6 and so on)?

Go in the synapse, go to side view, and press the key you wish to change - this should give you the option to change to mouse buttons
