My SLI GF 560's work harder (+20 degrees each) when I turn my TV display off, and computer is idle.

Hello! This is the first time that I've not found my question already answered by someone years ago:).

Display type: HD TV
GPU: 2x GF 560, SLI.
Overclocking: Never.
Drivers: Latest updated by Geforce Experience (320.49)
GPU Idle Temps: 41/38 degrees C
Max temps when it should be doing nothing and display is off: 81/80 degrees

So I've noticed lately that when I turn off my TV and leave my computer on, after a while when I come back the GPU fans are running really loud. I've used HW Monitor to check the temps. I remote desktopped into my computer while the display was off to find that the GPUs were at 81/80 degrees. But apparently remote desktopping is also a sort of display, so I observed then that the temperatures started dropping, and now after a few minutes they are at 40/38 degrees.

Turning off teamviewer causes the temps to slowly but surely rise again to 81/80 degree.

What's the usage like with the tv off/on? Use MSI afterburner to see. I saw someone on here that had a bitcoin mining virus so that his gpus were always maxed out mining for someone else. A good virus scan couldn't hurt.

Ah, a miner. That would make total sense. Thanks, will check when I get home.

It was the miner that comes with SuperCopier. I uninstalled it, then installed the version from their site that's without the miner. I'm sure they've mined enough by now to count as a suitable donation to keep free software alive:).
