I am trying to get a PSU that will fit in my case (Fractal Design Node 304 with the mini itx asus maximus VI impact VI board) with an nvidia asus 780 gfx card which rules as modular as most will be cut out by gfx card. I need it too be as quiet as possible if not silent. I've looked around and just found modular. The modular SFX would fit but the fans are loud and only 450w.

I need it for editting gameplay or streaming live on stream. So I need a great psu will hardly any noise and be non-modular. Any suggestions or help to get would be apprecated.

It's easy if I wanted a non-modular or a quiet/silent psu, but together nope!

160mm is the max size on the psu.

Solution
Fractal Design Node 304
• ATX PSUs, up to 160mm in length (To fit in combination with a long graphics card, PSUs with modular connectors on the back typically need to be shorter than 160 mm)
• Graphics cards, up to 310mm in length, when 2 HDD brackets (1 HDD hanging bracket total) are removed (Graphics cards longer than 170 mm will conflict with PSUs longer than 160mm)

ASUS GTX780-3GD5
Length: 10.8 inches / 27.43 centimeters

ASUS GTX780-DC2-3GD5 and GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5
Length: 11.3 inches / 28.7 centimeters

I bought a PSU that was overpowered for my PC and that had a passive cooling feature up to a certain load, as a result the fan barely turns on, so it's silent! I suggest you look into doing the same if you're having issues.

Yes, this was one way of getting a passive psu from the way you mentioned that I have considered. It's one definite way.

For a system using a single GeForce GTX 780 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 600 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 42 Amps or greater and that has at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The Seasonic S12II-620 Bronze (SS-620GB) power supply unit, with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 48 Amps and with one 6-pin and one (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is sufficient to power your system configuration with a single GeForce GTX 780 graphics card.
