Hey everyone,

I'm planning a build right now, and in the midst of deciding between mATX and ATX (GA-Z87MX-D3H vs. GA-Z87X-UD4H). Anyhow, it got me thinking about PCI express ports as I compared statistics, and now I'm wondering this:

I will be requiring a TP-Link wireless network adapter http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/tp-link-wireless-networ..., and I'm wondering which "speed" of PCI-e slot I would install it into? I will be obviously using the x16 for my GPU, and if I decide to go SLI down the road, I would add the second GPU into the x8 slot.

Given it's only a network adapter, would it be fine to put the wireless card into the x4 slot?

Many thanks!

Cheers,
Ben

You can put an X1 card into ANY pci-e slot. You can put it in an x-1, an x-4, x-8 or x-16 slot and it would work just fine.

Wonderful! Thanks for a quick and informative reply.
