Connecting Playstation 3 to Ativa Monitor

I was wondering if it's possible to hook up a Playstation 3 to my Ativa AT220H monitor using the Bravolink adapter shown here: http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-VGA-Video-Cable-Support/dp/B00E93517Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1379617571&sr=8-3&keywords=bravolink+hdmi+vga. Would I get 720p or 1080p output? The monitor's max resolution is 1900x1080 but only accepts VGA inputs. The forums I've found seem to disagree on whether these types of adapters work properly.

1080p is supported however almost all the games run at 720p simply because its not powerful enough for 1080p it will upscale it to your screen most likely but will look a bit pixelated as it is not your native resolution.

When you say poor, do you mean in terms of resolution or just in general quality?
