I am looking to upgrade my RAM I have a GIGAbyte ex58-ud5 with an i7 920 OC to 4.0ghz. I am looking for the best memory I can buy, I render and stream daily! So wanting 16GB or more. TIgerdirect.ca / NCIX.ca / Newegg.ca preferred. I have OCZ gold atm but its getting really old.

Thanks!

With the X58 and 16GB - will want a 4x4GB set to be able to utilize the triple channel available (will have 12 running in Tri channel and the other 4 GB in single) would suggest the GSkill RipJaws Z 1866/8 set with your mobo/CPU combo

They should run great and if you wish, have OC headroom if you want to take them up to 2133, or for a little less at 12 GSkill has some sets in a three by 4GB package, of those would look at the Snipers

Will the GSkill Ripjaws work with my combo? The i7 920 says (Memory Types DDR3-800/1066) and motherboard says it supports (Support for DDR3 2100+/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules) Sorry I get totally confused with Memory.

If price doesn't matter, then Corsair has the best RAM.
4x4GB Corsair
4x8GB Corsair

It need to be compatible with my Mobo and CPU.

Yes it does need to be compatible which throws that 32GB corsair set out in the wind as the mobo doesn't support 32GB or even 8GB sticks, the 4x4GB Corsairs would work, but are way overpriced, Corsair used to be the leader, but now play follow the leader to GSkill, which is the innovation leader (and generally far better pricewise)

Will those sticks of RAM your sent me work with my Combo? (read my post up)

The short of it - DRAM is DRAM, and can work with basically any mobo as long as the mobo uses that type of DRAM i.e. DDR3 in DDR3 - DDR2 won't work in a DDR3 mobo.....DRAM is sold in multiple pcks of sticks to provide for a amount that totals the amount of DRAM you want and the sticks in that single package are programmed in the SPD of the sticks with the requirements for that particular package (XMP programming) - a manufacturer may run off 100 total sticks and then say 40 of them are designated to go into 4 stick packages, are tested so each 4 sticks to a package work together and then are flashed in the SPD with appropriate settings, might use 18 sticks for 6 total 3stick packages, maybe 30 for 2 sticks packages etc and the remainder as 1 stick packages....Packages aren't specifically programmed to work in a particular channel mode - i.e. dual channel, tri or quad channel - though some sets may be slightly optimized for such

So even if the Manufactures website says max support of like 1333mhz I can go over that?
