Asus B75M-A with Gigabyte GTX 770 not a good combo?

Hi,

Is this true that B75M-A or any other mATX mobo would be a bad choice for GTX 770, due to their less powerful

circuitry? Someone advised me to go with the minimum P8H77-VLE or better P8Z77-VLK.

Will an mATX board succumb to the sheer power of GTX 770 (and above) and not be able to handle it efficiently and properly?

Thanks.

Thanks man.

Just one more confusion to clear. This may seem an out-of-context question. But I really need to know this.

When considering the power requirements of the build as a whole, do we need to take into account the motherboard too? Does it also consume its share of power from the PSU besides peripherals/CPU/RAM etc? Bcoz the CPU/peripherals take the power in through the mobo as it appears.

Everything uses power. If something is pulling power from the mobo, the mobo is pulling something from the power supply. There's a plug that goes directly into the mobo.

Don't worry too much about it, just get a good 600W PSU.

Lol..man I was really embarrassed after reading your reply :). It's not that you offended me or anything but only if I had elaborated my query a bit more.

Well...just wanted to confirm if the mobo consumes power for itself too, besides distributing it here and there.

But thanks very much anyways my friend. I really appreciate your help.
