Hello everyone!

First of all I would like to thank you all for viewing this post, and a special thank you to those who took the time out to help me out with building my first ever gaming rig.

After months of researching the right hardware from various sites, I have made a list of the components which I have shortlisted to include in my build. Any comments and/or suggestions with regards to the compatibility and longevity of my PC.

THE LIST:::

1. Casing | Cooler Master Scout 2
2. PSU | Corsair AX760
3. Motherboard | GA Z77X UD5H (I was also thinking about UD3H, but whichever is more compatible with the other hardware)
4. Processor | i7 3770K 3rd gen
5. Graphics Card | GTX 770
6. Ram | Corsair 8GB 1600Mhz
7. Cooling System | Cooler Master H100i
8. HDD | 1TB (Any available brand)
9. SSD | 256GB (any available brand)

....................................

I had uploaded the above specs onto a website gooeypc.com. It mentioned that my graphics card cannot be mounted onto the motherboard i.e. compatibility issues. This is quite strange because both are from Gigabyte and are more or less new hardware, so I found that abit strange.

Another question, do you all think is is a good gaming rig that would last me for about 3-4 years to come? I dont have that much money to constantly spend on upgrading my PC so i would like this to last me for years to come. Any and all help will be appreciated :)!

I had posted a thread seeking help for a build and one user was kind enought to help me out... the link is here http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1759603/configuration.html

I have spent far too long researching on hardware, I now need a gaming PC that I can be proud of building myself, and most of all a rig that is fully compatible and wont let me down.

Thanks all! :)

Hi Kayzkai,
First, I want to thank you for using GooeyPC to select and check your parts. This is an amazing rig you have designed and I think you'll get many years out of it. If you have the public rig link, please post it. Others will be able to save a copy on their account projects and tweak to their liking.

As for your question...

Thank you! I've placed my order and will be able to collect in the next few days :)

Another question: is the H100i overkill, considering that i have never overclocked before, and although I think I will, it will be some time before I get around to it? Or will the stock fan, which i presume will come with the CPU, work as well until I start overclocking? I am worried about leakage to be honest!!

As for your question regarding the liquid cooling. I always recommend waiting on purchasing aftermarket cooling until you know your cooling requirements. If you are not overclocking, or over stressing your rig, the stock fan will often work just fine.

Thanks again for using GooeyPC, and please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

I finally managed to get the parts and make the computer. It is:

1. Casing | Cosair Carbide 540
2. PSU | Corsair AX760
3. Motherboard | GA-Z87X-UD5H (rev. 1)
4. Processor | i7 4770K 4th Gen
5. Graphics Card | Gigabyte Windforce GTX 770
6. Ram | Corsair 8GB 1600Mhz
7. Cooling System | stock fan (for now - will get a cooler when I OC)
8. HDD | 1TB (Toshiba)

I have named it "The Beast".
It works like a charm, not a lot of noise, and the games are great. Planetside2, Skyrim and Crysis2 run perfectly on ultra settings. Cannot wait to play Metro :)

Thanks to everyone who replied and responded!
