I've had this card for about 2 years, and everything was fine until recently.
Out of nowhere, the fan started making strange noises.. grindy, I guess, at times. Today, I was playing FFXIV: ARR and I had my music turned up, so I didn't notice the fan stop spinning. I started getting weird framerate lag, so I checked Afterburner, and sure enough, it was up past 100c.. not good. These cards already run a little hot, but, definitely not even close to that. In fact, I'm not even sure why my whole PC didn't shut down. If I mess around with the fan speed in CCC or Afterburner, I can't get it to go past 10.. maybe 20% speed. Of course, on the application it says it's at whatever I set it to.. but it's definitely not. When I try to turn on OverDrive, it just sets the GPU and Memory clock sliders to 0 after I hit apply. Very strange. Either way, Afterburner and CCC settings seem to have no effect on it,
Anyways, I tried dusting it out, seeing if anything was stuck in the fan, wiping and reinstalling the drivers, reseating it. Nothing works. It seems like it's a lose cause at this point, but I really hope it isn't. I can't really afford an upgrade or even a sidegrade currently.
