I am primarily using this computer for gaming and video. My current graphics card was around $65 so it's not even close to the best but I have around $350 right now so Im looking to upgrade it.

My current build is:

CPU
AMD FX-6300 45 °C
Vishera 32nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 859MHz (11-12-12-31)
Motherboard
MSI 970A-G43 (MS-7693) (CPU 1) 60 °C
Graphics
Cinema HD (2560x1600@60Hz)
2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 67 °C
Hard Drives
233GB Seagate ST250DM000-1BD141 ATA Device (SATA) 43 °C
466GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKS-75YGA0 ATA Device (SATA) 48 °C
Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NS95 ATA Device

PSU is 550W

What would be a good replacement?

Solution
I would say a HD 7970 from Powercolor is the best update if GPU power is concerned.
Else get a HD 7950 ( which itself is a beast GPU ) and a SamSung 840 EVO 128GB SSD which will upgrade overall performance itself.
Also if your video editing , you might prefer the FX 8320 instead of the FX 6300 , although it can be done later on.

Upgrade paths -
HD 7970 + 128GB 840 EVO > FX 8320/8350 > 840 EVO
HD 7950 + 256GB 840 EVO > FX 8320/8350
HD 7950 + Sell FX 6300 and buy FX 8320/8350 > 840 EVO.
If PSU is crap -
HD 7950 + new PSU + 128GB 840 EVO SSD > FX 8320/FX8350.

Oh and forgot about PSU , if you have a cheaper or PSU which has not enough power to put your PC on , get the CM Silent Pro M2 620W or XFX 650W PSU.
Please tell the model no and brand of the PSU or provide a link to its page.

Solution

Nope , your motherboard cannot really CF/SLI as it has one PCIe 2.0x16 and one PCIe 2.0x4 slot , so the one on the PCIe 2.0x4 will highly bottleneck. All GPUs really need PCIe 2.0/3.0x8/16 slots for optimum performance.

If your asking for the PCIe 2.0x4 slot , its used mainly for PCIe SSD's and in professional equipments.
The PCI and PCIe 2.0x1 slots are for adding add-on cards like sound cards , Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters , etc.

Also about SSD , yes , it will amp things by a lot up. The stuff stored on it will be loaded quite quick like games , OS , apps ,etc when compared to mechanical HDDs.
