So i just built my first pc and Im kind of paranoid because in a couple of days i have shut it down using the power button. I know its a bad habit and when I have done it was mostly because my boot menu failed me and there was no other way. Anyway now i got windows installed, do you think I should worry that something happened to my hardware? thanks

As far as I am aware, if you hold the power button, it won't cause any issues. BUT it could degrade the lifetime of your HDD as it causes the PC to shutdown before it could properly stop the spindle

If you are booted into windows, and press the power button (not holding it) it will signal windows to shut it down normally however

Probably not, assuming your hard drive is new and did not already have problems with it (check the SMART results in the HDD if anything and a disk check)

Most important thing is that you were not writing to the disk
