So I am currently working on my first desktop build. I bought all the components off of newegg and got everything in and I was all excited......That is until I pulled the plastic cover off of the CPU socket on the motherboard and seen several pins were bent and a couple were even missing. This really upset me because this means I am out $90. Newegg and ASUS(because this was an ASUS motherboard) both told me they couldn't replace it because there was no guarantee that I didn't damage the board myself. ASUS told me they could repair it for $120, this is rediculous since I only paid $90 for the board in the first place.

So I was hoping that you guys could suggest a good or at least decent motherboard for my build. I plan on being able to game and have fun with this.

The build so far is:

Intel Core i5-3350P Ivy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 69W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80637i53350P

Any help would be very much appreciated.

That is the worst customer service response I have ever heard from ASUS!!

Newegg is normally very good with customer service.
I would try again to return it to newegg.
And... I would order any brand but ASUS this time. Any Z77 based motherboard would do.
