new battery doesn't charge above 43%

Hi all,

I just bought a new battery for Gateway NV78 from Battdepot but it doesn't charge above 43%. It says that is plugged in, but it doesn't charge.

How can I solve this issue?

Thanks, antiglobal! I did it last night. It has increased with 2%. Now it doesn't charge above 45%. Any other ideas?

No, it wasn't 100% charged when the laptop was off. It just charged up to 45%, but I let the adapter on the whole night.

I did what you suggested - no improvement. Still doesn't charge more than 45% ...

On some gateways there is an option in the bios, usually in power or advanced section, to recalibrate the battery but to be honest, this is usually caused by cheap crappy replacement batteries. I been thru this once or twice.
