I hope I did this right, I went by the sticky listed at the top of the forums for a "template" so that it would help me get help faster.
Approximate Purchase Date: I will be purchasing individual parts when I have the spare money throughout the next few months and finish off my build when I get my tax return. (~Feb-Mar)
Budget Range: Not really budgeted, but cheaper is always better...always
System Usage from Most to Least Important: High-End gaming, Movies, FRAPS and Music
Are you buying a monitor: Yes Open to suggestions for SINGLE 23-24" LED
Parts to Upgrade: Full Rig
Do you need to buy OS: Yes (Windows)
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I will be ordering all parts from various (preferably US) retailers. (NO Amazon/Ebay I had bad prior experiences with warranties)
Location: Strasburg, VA, the only retailers in this podunk area is Best Buy
Parts Preferences: No real preference except with the case/processor
Overclocking: Eventually but not right out. (I've never had a PC that would let me OC before.)
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: Best Single Monitor Resolution within reason (I don't want to spend $400 on a monitor that is slightly better than a $150 monitor)
Additional Comments: I am on a tight budget because I cannot save money, so I will order a piece or two here and there when bills permit. I am open to suggestions on ALL parts EXCEPT my case. I would like for all parts to have as long of a warranty as possible and outside of warranty proven longevity is always a plus. I do NOT want ram with heat spreaders. I would like a minimum of a 80+ Bronze power supply.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I play a lot of games, but I have been severely limited over the years and have done small upgrades to my long living and reliable dell e521. I want this computer to be something that I can use for a long time. I have had my current PC for almost 6 years now. I want to build myself a new PC so that I can begin to enjoy high end games like I could when this PC was new.
Note: I used TigerDirect because I have had my wishlist setup there for a couple years now.
Current Build Idea:
Cooler Master RC-932-KKN5-GP HAF 932 Advance Full Tower Case
Kingston 10th Anniversary 16GB Desktop Memory Module
Microsoft FQC-05956 Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit
Cooler Master RR-212E-20PK-R2 Hyper 212 EVO
Intel Core i7-4770K Processor
Asus Z87-A Motherboard
MSI GeForce GTX 760 Video Card - 2GB
ADATA SP900 Premier Pro 256GB SSD
2x WD Black 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive
ASUS Internal 24X DVD Burner
Cooler Master RS800-80GAD3-US Silent Pro Gold 800W Power Supply
The main goal of this post is to find out if these parts will work effectively together, and to get input on whether or not I should change certain things to a different brand, or maybe even up the wattage of my power supply. Overkill is not a problem in my books because I want this rig to last for a long time.
