When I bought my first car, the kid left some dinky cold cathode lights in it. They plugged into the cigarette lighter. Well, these would work beautifully in my rig. I was thinking of hooking them up to an extra 12v port on my fan controller. Any suggestions on how?

Well you'd have to cut the wire at some point, but the center part of the DC connector is the +12 volt supply, while the outer part is common (0 volts). Solder the +12 volt on the light to the +12 volt on the PC supply (yellow wire from the PSU) and the reference on the light to the black wire on the PSU.

This could be done with some soldering. I'm not sure what the exact electrical specifications of the 12 volt jack on a car look like, but I assume that the light itself is internally current limited. Should not be a problem unless it draws too much power, which I find to be unlikely. In the worst case scenario, hook it up directly to your power supply.
