Hello guys,

this happened 5th time in week. Firstly, my screen lost signal and than music I was listening to started stuttering and lagging. Sometimes, my PC just hard restart itself.

So when it happened, besides screen no signal, music started lagging but more laggy it was the less my HDD LED blinked and then it stopped blinking completely. So I had to hard restart PC. I felt like PSU stopped giving power to SDD. I think it can be faulty PSU because, as i said, sometimes, my PC just hard restart itself.

Today I pressed power button and no signal for screen BUT I noticed that HDD LED was always on, not a single blink. Waited approx 7 mins, nothing happened. I could not turn off PC by holding power button. So I turned off PSU with switch and it worked. PC booted. Never happened to me before.

Here is my setup:

MB: MSi P67A-C45
CPU: Intel i5 2500K 4,2GHz (OC since I got it)
Cooler: Scythe Mugen 3
RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1600 CL9 XMP
VGA: Sapphire HD 6950 Toxic - unlocked 6970
HDD: Samsung F1 spinpoint 7200 750GB (~5 year old)
SSD: Corsair Force series 3 - 60 GB
PSU: Corsair CX600, Case: Thermaltake Mambo
LCD: Samsung P2470HD 24" FullHD DVB-T, HDMI, SCART, DVI

Also my W7 is installed on SSD and I bought this PC almost 2 years ago.

Please help me identify what is causing problems. I wan to know why this happened all of sudden.

Thank you.

Hi,

First thing I would check is CPU and GPU temps for overheating, clean dust if any.

If temps are fine, I would test with another psu, how old is it ?

If all that is going well, I would install hard disk sentinel and check hard drive health.
Else, you might want to undo overclock to check if CPU / mobo is not having trouble there.
Might want to do a memtest86

Hello,

Thank You for your help. CPU and GPU temps are ok. I don't have any other 600W PSU (about 1 year 7 months), only 400W one. HDD health is 100% but SSD only 99%. I clocked CPU back to base clocks, will see if it repeats. I ran memtest86(after turning OC off), no errors.

Well PSU was faulty. It was under warranty and Corsair sent me newest revision of CX600.
