Hey all, I am wondering if it is worth it to overclock my cpu. I have never bothered to overclock any of my components and have been curious about it lately. My PC is primarily a gaming machine and I am not all that interested in overclocking just for the hell of it. Would there be a noticeable rise in frames/performance if I were to overclock? My system is below:

Intel Core i5-4670K
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO
GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H
GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD GeForce GTX 770
2 x Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB

Thanks!

That is intriguing. I get great performance out of BF3 but I definitely want to continue that trend with BF4.

Yeah I get paranoid lol. I think it sounds interesting but I will probably wait until I see performance dips. I might just buy Crysis 3 to give me some motivation :)

The k series i5 will OC well. But you won't get the most out of it with the 212 EVO.

Don't get me wrong, the Hyper 212 EVO is in 3 of my servers as it is simply THE best budget cooler. And you can do a mild OC with it.

But to push a really high OC, you want high end air or water cooling. Consider:

Air:
Noctua NH-D14
Phanteks TC14PE
Spire Thermax Eclipse II (* LOUD but awesome)

Water:
Corsair H100i
CoolerMaster Seidon 240
NZXT Kraken x60 (* needs 2 x 140mm fan vents instead of the typical 2 x 120mm)

Yeah the Noctua looks awesome. Water scares me so I probably wouldnt go that route but my one regret is not researching CPU coolers enough when I was ordering parts (I was impatient).
