Hello.

I decided to upgrade my case to a full tower case after getting some helpful advice from these forums :)

Now at the moment my case is quite small so the airflow is kinda meh.

I want to upgrade my cooler as the current one ( Arctic freezer 13 ) just doesn't cut it. The idle temperatures are at 40-45C. And it becomes quite loud sometimes.
(I OD at 4.3GHz)

My budget is 50-60£ - could go up slightly if performance would be worth it.

I've been reading so many reviews, forums, and just generally looking at peoples experiences with different products.

I am leading towards Noctua nh-d14 or Noctua nh-d12
The problem is, I do not know if it will fit my motherboard and still allow the RAM slots.

my motherboard is ASUS P8Z77 - V LX and I run 4x4gb ram slots.
( when this pc was built it said it would have 2x2gb :D yet when I opened the case I was greeted by a surprise :D )

Now If I get Noctua will my RAM slots be alright?

I have been measuring, but without experience in building PC's I am very confused.

While on the subject, if you guys would know at the top of your minds, some cooler that could fit without problems that would not affect the RAM slots? Or would one of the Noctua ( I presume would be d12) would fit this case without problems.

Thank you for your time.

If ya peruse the reviews and youtube videos....most rank as follows:

Phanteks PH-TC14-PE - £64.97 inc VAT - 159mm
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/phanteks-cpu-performance-cooler-premium-white-edition-w-2x-140mm-white-silent-fans-all-intel-amd

Thermalright Silver Arrow - £52.57 inc VAT

Noctua DH-14

If ya bought low profile RAM, and I cant think of ay reason to buy anything else since DDR3 has no need for elaborate heat sinks, the coolers will be no problem. Measure your room from CPU to case....if ya got 160mm you can fit just about anything

Thank you for the links.

And will it fit - what I mean is, will the bigger coolers go over the RAM slots on my Mboard- memory clearance - so to speak. If I get one of those coolers, will I be able to keep the RAM slots intact, or will the cooler go over one of them and I may need to take one or two slots out (update to 2x8gb rather than 4x4gb)

Also what do you mean by low profile RAM?

Thank you.
