Lately I have been having problems with my pc and its not bottling up, every time it does a startup repair it can't fix the problem. And I'm trying to reinstall windows to get over with all problems but I don't have DVD drive, I used a USB stick to install windows at the beginning, is there a way to reinstall windows using USB?

Solution
Yes. The same windows key can be re-installed on the same PC any number of times. If you get an activation error use the telephone activation number.
Yes. If you have another computer with a DVD drive you can copy the contents of the install disk to a USB thumb drive (at least 4 GB).

This definitely works with 7/8 (I've done it) should work with Vista. XP might not work.

I know about that. I meant how to REINSTALL windows because I have some problems with the windows

You mean do a repair install? Either way the software needed is on the installation disk. If you want to try a repair select that option once the USB stick boots up. That might not work, so you can do a fresh install.

Also, are you sure your hard drive isn't failing?

I got everything built 2 weeks ago and right now I ran the setup by going into "Computer" and then ran "setup" at the moment it's installing so hopefully everything goes well

By doing it this way you may end up with duplicate "Windows" folders in the C drive once this install finishes, your existing one renamed "Windows.Old" That can be deleted by using the Disk Cleanup tool (right click on C: in computer and select "Disk Cleanup" then once that finishes loading click "Clean up system files" and let it re-load, then the old windows files will show up in the list of things that can be cleaned up.

I have a similiar issue with Windows 7 32/Ultimate. The laptop blue screen on me and I am trying to do a re-install.

The setup USB won't let me do an Upgrade install. I can do a refresh but I don't want to do that.

Is there a way to do a re-install? Like the old XP day?
