I'm having a hard time distinguishing any differences between these chip-sets, other than that the X can use two cards in conjunction, and the fx 4. Is this correct?
I'm helping build a pc for a friend, and i plan to use an fx6300/hd7770, without overclocking, and no foreseeable use of Xfire.
Will my 6300 do just fine with a 970?
Is there any other reason to buy a X/FX board? I've read that Fx work well with 8 core cpus.
With what cpu/gpus would I start to see a huge benefit from x or fx?
UPDATE: Please refer to my build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1FTvE
Additional opinions regarding my components or otherwise useful information is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
