When I plug it in, the light turns on, the HD starts to whir as if it's booting up, and then it just stops whirring and shuts back down. PC does not recognize it either. I'm assuming it's a power problem. Steps towards fixing this? Spoke to Geek Squad (bad idea, I know), and they told me they don't do services like replacing the encasing of a HD, which I thought would be the cheapest course of action, and proceeded to tell me that data recovery is gonna cost me $850 (lol).
