What Part(s) Should I Upgrade In My Current Build?

Last response: in Components

Hi, Thank you for clicking on this post/thread and helping me out! Okay, first off I'd like to say I'm a new member here and I'm looking for Honest Feedback :)  . I've read a few (like around 5-10) If that's accurate :p

So I just want to know what component(s) to get, I just want a little upgrade/boost to my computer, because I've been experiencing medium to high fps lag in 2009 games, A game I play called "Cross Fire" by Z8games. Before I used to get like 200 FPS (max fps cap is 230) , but now I've been getting 150 & below..

I've been trying out a lot of programs to help boost my FPS in games and my PC Performance but that isn't enough or barely working.. :/  WELL, My birthday is coming up next week thursday (Sept.260th) , So I'm wondering If I should get a new motherboard, a new graphics card, etc.

Computer Specs:
http://prntscr.com/1sim32
(If you need more about my computer specs, Ill include parts by parts.)
Thanks !

If anyone can suggest what component I should upgrade to, that'd be great~!! Anything that ranges from like $100-$150 or a little more if It's that great :)  AMD or NVIDIA, Doesn't really matter :p  , Thanks once again guys!!~

While it's true that you probably need an upgrade, if your main issue is the fps "lag" you talked about, you shouldn't upgrade. You're not seeing 200fps even if fraps says that's what you're running. You're probably only seeing 60fps, unless you have a 120Hz monitor, and even then you're only seeing 120.

I had a GT 640 for a while and upgraded to a GTX 650 Ti BOOST, very nice card for the money and performs quite well.

Thanks for the really quick response! , but I am seeing 200 fps on Fraps in my game , here's a screenshot:

And also, I'm about to set-up a dual monitor and they're both 60hz refresh rate

Is that 666mhz ram?? I would replace that with 8gb of 1600mhz+ ram.
The only other major compnent you would want to replace would be your graphics card.
The CPU and pretty much everything else looks quite nice tho...
Maybe a gtx 650 ti boost, or a gtx 760, its a REALLY nice card for the money..

You could replace your motherboard.. But the only reason I would really do that would be if it was lacking in , say, USB 3 ports.... The only real other reason would be for overclocking.... The motherboard is also (IMO) the most awkward component to replace

Even though fraps says 200fps, your monitor isn't physically capable of showing you that 200fps. A 60Hz monitor only shows you 60fps, regardless of how many your GPU can process. Hope that makes sense.

Oh I see, regardless . Do you know what components or parts I should upgrade other than the one you just showed me

Really your GPU is the only thing lacking in your system. SSDs are nice to upgrade to, but they're not so much a boost in gaming as they are in more general read/write tasks, boot up, etc.

I think my fastest boot time, Ive ever gotten was 4 something seconds:
http://prntscr.com/1ryttr

So I need to upgrade my GPU ? Thanks, do you know any good gpu's out there for a good price? I've read some posts, that says the radeon hd 7700 or something like that is good to play games on high-ultra settings and costs like 100-150$?

Oh I have 1 more question... since my computer has been lacking fps lately... I've been reinstalling windows 7 to win8 a lot now.. is that bad for my pc? does it affect why im lacking fps?

Nobody boots in 4 seconds, even with an SSD ;)

I still recommend a GTX 650 TI BOOST 2GB.

I have no idea what you're asking in your last question...

What I mean is like , I've been doing a lot of clean installs of win 7 & 8 to try to fix my fps lag, does that affect my pc in anyway?

That won't ever change your game fps issues, and is probably not a good idea.

You don't need a new SSD, I would just stop reinstalling Windows thinking it's going to help your fps.

Hey, so I just found an extra monitor, and i decided to use it as my 2nd monitor. I have 1 on the left and 1 on the right, The left one(Acer V223w, not my main monitor) , The right one(Acer V213w, my main monitor).

My main monitor(Acer V213w) has a resolution of 1920x1080
My other monitor(Acer V223w) has a resolution of 1680x1050

How do add up the resolutions of both monitors? so I can find the perfect resolution that fits both monitorss

Run the resolutions at their native specs. Don't worry about running them the same, it won't look as good. There's no real reason to have them at the same resolution anyway, since you can't play games on two monitors or anything.

before doing anything ...anywhere i noticed your cpu temp is to high..the max temp for your cpu is 67
better to check the cpu cooling system first!
do you have and after market cpu cooler or the stock one?

yes i have a aftermarket cpu cooler and a stock one, so i have 2
it was at like 80 something i believe when i posted that picture but i had forgot to attach myaftermarket cpu cooler , now its

picture of my temp after i attached my other cpu cooler: http://prntscr.com/1sv9kv
picture of my 2 coolers: http://i.epvpimg.com/SOYdb.jpg
as you can see, the orange one is a stock one from the case
and the one at the top , the black one is an aftermarket one

What should I do?!!

i can see you have a stock cooler on your cpu... and your cpu temp still high in temp..but better now with the last picture you put...but still high

your grapphic cards temp look very good...no issue with the temp there.

You could get an aftermarket cooler (CM Hyper 212 Evo) or try reseating your CPU by removing it and reapplying the thermal paste.

Okay, Ill get some thermal paste and fix that up ASAP, Also I can't get into my BIOS for some reason...
Picture: http://prntscr.com/1sz88f < ----- My bios info
So I looked up on youtube/google , how to get into a MSI bios and it says by pressing DEL or holding the DEL key, okay I got in, then at the bottom right it says "Entering Setup" and the bottom left says "D8" then after that I had to enter a password to get in.. Any help?

I would say thet you would not need an upgrade with the info you gave us. It all depends on the refresh rate of your monitor. if it's 60hz like the vast majority of the monitors out there you would only be seeing 60fps, so all the other frames are wasted. however if you insist on an upgrade I would go with as stated a GTX 650 boost or a GTX 760 as I have a 660 and it is amazing, and the 760 is roughly the same price and even better. ill leave which one up to your budget.
