My Windows XP pop-ed out a message: A disk error occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Dlt to restart.
Startup repair, system restore doesn't seem to work.
Can I use command prompt to solve this and how?

Solution
That message isn't vague at all - it's clearly saying there's a problem.

Try booting into Safe Mode with Command Prompt by tapping Function 8 as you power up the machine. At the Prompt, type
chkdsk c: /r
including the spaces and where C: is your main system Partition, then press Enter. That kickstarts a five stage process seeking out bad sectors or clusters of sectors and trying to fix them.

It may just be able to heal enough issues to allow the system to run normaly but it's a clear sign the hard disk is on its way to the funeral parlour so organise a replacement and clone your entire system on to that as soon as you can.
I'm sorry, but that error message is so vague that I don't think a forum thread will work to walk you through the possibilities. I think you're better off getting live chat or phone-based customer service from the computer manufacturer (if it's a pre-built), contacting a friend who can help you by phone or in person, or taking it to a computer repair center.
