I have a basdass gaming PC and BioShock is lagging! (I'm also a noob!)

I just bought an ASUS G74SX and it has 12GB or ram, a 2.0GHz i7 i7-2630QM CPU, and the 560M graphics card has 2GB!- Yet, for whatever reason, BioShock still lags and when I move the mouse, it jumps and stutters... It's so bad that I had to stop the game and sign up to an internet forum just to get help!

Additional details:
64-Bit windows 7 Pro installed on a 60GB Intell SSD. The drive is full so I installed BioShock on my secondary 1TB Samsung Spinpoint. That wouldn't be causing these problems, would it?
Resolution set to 1600x900.
Windows Experience is 7.1.

Anyone know what this crap means?

Your problem is most likely bloatware or malware. When you have no apps open your cpu was running at 30% load, which means thats 30% less then games can use. If you can, install a fresh copy of windows.

It's only 2ghz, but it's a quad-core i7 with turbo boost... I've seen it go up to 2.8ghz. The laptop is a MASSIVE beast that has the "Republic of Gamers" seal of approval.

I am sorry yes its a laptop but its in no way a box that would do awe so much around it no matter the speed it has a slower hdd in it uses integrated graphics your ram and in general slower not knocking your system but bioshock needs a bit more then the lappy can provide

Johnny, how is that even possible? The i7-2630QM has 4 cores with an average benchmark speed of 5594, whereas the 2.4GHz Core 2 that you quoted has a measly 1379???

i never quoted any intel chip you need to rethink that if i would have QUOTED ANYTHING IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A 3570 K towards your slowly lappy top even a a 10 6800k would run circles around that i7 you own but i was being nice before you informed me what I had quoted belive me I havent drank that much tonight to not know where this is going get a box system and use the laptop for facebook,,,,

It doesn't help much. My issue is mostly with the mouse cursor delay. The video lag isn't that bad.
