Im nearly done with my new gaming computer and wondering if W8 pro is going to be a waist of money and that i should just go for normal W8?
Obviously we going to be talking about 64bit.

Firstly which version?
So W8 or W8 Pro? or another?

Secondly type?
And disk or OEM? or another?

Solution
W8 premium (the basic version) would be all that you should need, I wouldn't spend any more on pro unless you actually plan on using whatever other features come with it (most of the features are business and region related and would have no impact on gaming).

In the past (vista/7 days) the only reason for me to go above home premium was to raise the memory limit. In 7 the limit for premium is 16 GB, however it is substantially raised to 128 GB in 8 so it makes little sense for most people to use anything more then premium, especially for gaming.

I have been using W8 on my laptop so i know my way around it and with 8.1 coming i dont mind sticking to W8.
my main question was W8 or W8 Pro. i only play BF3 soon to be BF4 and hopefully GTA V if it ever comes out on pc. so all the games will be W8 compatible.

I did find W8 improved my gaming a little with graphics and performance.

So ill get W8(normal) 64bit.
