I have a Motorola SBG6580 cable modem and a SMC SMCWGBR14-N router. I want to setup a wireless bridge. I can access the modem gateway page now, how do I setup the router? As of now both devices are are at default settings. The cable modem will be wired to a desktop and I want the router in a different location. How do I achieve this?

If your router can run as a AP then follow the instruction in the manual.
Otherwise disable the DHCP, change the ip to something other than you main router is using and exclude it from the DHCP pool in the main router, plug a cable between the LAN ports on both routers.
