Acer on windows8

Have just loaded Windows 8 on my acer d270.

Couldn't run some apps due screen resolution.

I tried changing the registry editor as advised but couldn't find display1_downscalingsupported.

Pls. help.

Nope, that is completely incorrect. My laptop runs Windows 8 and I've been able to get it to play nearly every single game I've tried on it. Please define what you mean by "supporting the system". If a game isn't running it's more likely a hardware problem than it is a software problem.
