Hi everyone! My system crash and I dont know what is the main cause. I have i5 760 2.8 gig, Asus P7h55-M, 8 gig Ddr3 1333 mem, Asus Gtx 650 ddr5 1 gig, 2 tb hd and 700w psu. It turns on half a sec and then it dies... It does it again and again, im unable to booth. I dont know what gen is my Intel i5? If i will buy a new mobo, what model of Asus should be compatible with my existing pc parts? Pls email me at drummermags@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance for all ur response.

you're on a first generation core i cpu... it's the nehalem archetecture. Specifically it's a Lynnfield cpu which means a LGA 1156 board will work.

The pc will turn on half a sec and dies. It turns on and off again and again. Ive tried without and with a single ram stick. Already put some thermal paste, reset batt, reset the cpu reset the mobo.

If in case my cpu still working, is it still compatible with the new asus mobos? Or what should i look for in a mobo if i will replace it?

Could you pls help me pick for old models of asus mobo that can serve as guide when buying a replacement? Since im not very technical guy. Tnxs.
