Dual Monitor issues

I'm having some problems setting up my second monitor. I initially had it connected via a VGA cable, and have tried to connect it with a DVI-D, and it doesn't seem to be working properly.

I get a picture during the Windows boot screen, then nothing after that. In the resolution settings, I get this: http://puu.sh/4wCS1.jpg
When I try to change any of these settings, I get a popup saying that the settings can't be saved.

My monitors are both LG IPS224Vs.

Any clues? Am I doing something daft? I'd really appreciate any help.

I initially had it connected via VGA, so I assume it was still counting that.

Anyway, I've managed to get it to connect, but there's a difference in quality between both monitors, with the second one having an odd tint. Is there anything that can be done here?

The tint could be caused by the display cable - try reconnecting the cable or moving it a little and see if it makes any change. You should also consider trying the cable you're using your 1st display with.

I've checked the cable and have connected it with a HDMI, though there's still a colour problem. Dodgy screen perhaps?
