So I just downloaded cputemp sense all of my games I've been playing have recently started to lag severely and I'm thinking it may be my cpu overheating. Currently with me just on the internet all of the cores are at 71c I'm thinking that is WAY to high just with them idling any ideas on how I can get that temp down I'm kind of a noob when it comes to this stuff.

K, I would definitely replace the cooler then. Check out some reviews of coolers online and grab one...no need to spend alot of money. Make sure to clean the old thermal paste off well before applying the new one. Also check to make sure its symmetrically secure from all it's mounting...

71 is pretty high for just running a web browser. What CPU/Cooler? Is it something that just started happening or has it been that way. It may require new thermal paste and resetting...a new (improved) cooler never hurts

Thanks for the response I forgot to add what cpu i have. It's an Intel i5 750 the cooler is w.e the pc came with all i can say is it says Intel on top of it and it just recently started happening I've been fine for the 4 years I've had the cpu its probably that paste your talking about cuz i haven't put any new on it sense i bought it. Also I just played some Counterstike go and the temps got up to 92 with all settings on low thats insane.
