I built a system 2 years ago with ASUS Crosshair V Formula and 2) recycled Nvidia GTX 260s in SLI. I determined that the ATI Radeon HD 6970 2GB was the best choice for an upgrade, versus the GTX 560, since I'm stuck with PCIe 2.0. I figured since I'm running an AMD system, what could be wrong with an AMD card, right?

I'm running an old ('06) but awesome Apple Cinema 23" display. The problem is that with the new ATI card, the system BIOS screen will not display; not good. Does anyone know any tricks with this card/ display combo?? BTW, I have an old analog "test" monitor. The bios displays on that. Any help is appreciated!

I've always used EVGA Nvidia cards. They've always been great in the rare instance I needed support. This new ATI card is from Sapphire. I've sent them 3 requests for assistance with no response. They have no phone support. I'll never buy a Sapphire product again!

Thanks!
Al

Sorry you are having problems with your HD 6970. Sapphire is actually the best AMD/ATI card manufacture there is.

Couple questions to help trouble shoot this problem first what make/model PSU do you have? Second do you have both PCI-E power cables plugged into that card. Is it new or second hand? If it is used how do you know it was not defective when you got it? As far as support give them some time they will respond to your e-mail it just takes some time. Did you create a support ticket with Sapphire?

Thanks for the quick reply!
I have a Coolmax 1200W PSU. I had to plug in the 8-pin cable for the card. Yes, it's brand new.

I like the Sapphire card; it got great reviews. It's their support that stinks. 2 weeks is plenty of time for them to reply.
