I would like to ask if a dual core cpus would still be ok until 2015 for gaming if paired with gtx650 or radeon hd 7750??
I'm planning on having a pentium g2010/2020 or celeron g1610. I'm planning on upgrading the cpu maybe after 1 or 2years if i'll choose celeron g1610. Please no core i3s suggestions sir, i'm on a budget. hehe. I hope someone could explain to me about this. Thanks in advance

short answer no. you may be able to play older games ok, at lower res, with med settings, but beyond that forget it. It is quickly becoming a requirement to have a quad core or at least a midrange I3 or AMD equivalent, to have a decent gaming experience. If your happy to game at lower levels of graphical goodness, and with 30 fps average...

Dual cores are not recommend for games anymore. Its mainly quad core CPU's and literally it does make a huge difference when gaming. Personally, if your on a budget, get a AMD FX 6300. Its a 6 core processor beast. Its a brillant choice for gaming :)

Thanks for the quick response. I guess i'll go for intel celeron g1610 for now and upgrade it to core i5 quad cores and pair it with discrete graphics card. ^_^

Well, I am also thinking about amd before but the power consumption is not good because it goes 95w and more and most of the cpu goes more than the stated power consumption and i believe it causes the cpu to get warm eventhough it has cpu cooler. My plan b4 was a4-4000 and upgrade to quadcore athlon ii 740 for 65w power consumptions but then i'm worried about the power consumption and durability of cpu. thanks btw. ^_^
