can i overclock intel i5 2300

i m having intel core i5 2300 2nd generation
upto how much Ghz it can be overrclocked
its already on turbo boost frequency 2.8ghz to 3.10ghz
or do i need liquid cooling for overclocking my processor
thanxxx toms hardware

Yes, but only up to 3.5 GHz with 1 core active, 3.4 GHz with 2 cores active, and 3.3 GHz with 3 or 4 cores active. The Core i5-2300 is "limited unlocked".

There's always a risk involved when overclocking.

The motherboard only supports overclocking the integrated graphics and the base clock (BCLK), which is what the CPU, PCI-Express etc. run off. You can overclock the CPU via the BCLK, but only by a few percent. And I wouldn't recommend it, because the other components controlled by the BCLK are much less tolerant of overclocking.
