They are not comparable....

the 7990 has two GPUs on a single card and is comparable to the GTX 690. With twin GPUs, it uses Crossfire. CF has always had issues with game support but of late there have been frame latency issues to deal with which AMD is working on. See later on in message on this subject

The 780 is a single GPU card and it's nearest competitor is the 7970 Ghz Ed although the 770 is it's performance match

Id normally never recommend a dual GPU card but if ya don't have the 8 games it comes with, it's new $700 prices make sit worth considering.

With what you appear willing to spend, my recommendation would be twin 770s as it has much better performance per dollar than 780

I havent seen a review of the 7990 w. 13.10 beta drivers but her eit is w/ the 13.8

So what do we make of that lot? Well overall it's hard not to be a little underwhelmed. There are aspects where initially it looks like progress has been made, Battlefield 3 for example where the 13.8 driver ends its run better than the 13.6 but the new version is a little worse to begin with. We must bear in mind though that Battlefield 3 has a pretty low latency anyway so it's not a huge issue. Where we would have liked to see an improvement is Metro: Last Light but sadly framerates decreased and we saw larger spikes in frametimes on 13.8 which was disappointing. Really though one of the key titles which needs frametime improvements is Crysis 3 (on NVIDIA and AMD hardware) but that remains pretty much the same on the new 13.8 driver which is a shame as in this game the micro stutters are very noticable to the naked eye.

Overall we have to say this release doesn't deliver what we would have expected and to be honest we are not sure why AMD has rushed to deliver it in a state where there are no significant real world improvements in key titles... or why they felt waiting until all resolutions and DX9/OpenGL were ready wasnt worthwhile. It could be that there is an improvement in tests which use FCAT technology to record driver improvements but until the gains are replicated in real world use for games such as Crysis 3 we see no reason to change our conclusions from recent reviews.

If ya don't like the twin 770s alternative, I would suggest that ya get two 7970 Ghz Editions but by that time (year end) we expect the CF issues to be fully addressed, AMD's new lineup should be on the shelves long before.

The 7990 is a far better card: http://www.techspot.com/review/675-nvidia-geforce-gtx-7..., though it requires more like 750W. The GTX 780 you could run on your current PSU. ..thanks for repling me i was wondring coz it allmost the same price the both ..some one told me that the gtx 780 its way better for the futuer if i am gonna add another gtx 780 to make it sli

I would go with the 780 personally, 7990 is a very powerful card but you have crossfire to worry about. Nothing worse than not been able to max a game because you can't get crossfire working with it. You would not have that problem with a 780 (or any other single card)

then u think tow gtx 770 will better than hd 7990..but tow gtx 770 will be more expensive

SLI 780s would be pretty powerful, but also way more pricey. Getting one now and running SLI later isn't a bad idea, if you have the money. As mentioned, there would be less expensive ways to go for similar performance, better bang for the buck.
