New pc Dedicated graphics, no signal on tv.

Hi
Just bought a new pc CyberPower Commando 802 and it runs ok, everything moving etc.

But I cant receive a signal via hdmi to my tv.

It is straight out of the box plugged and turned on.
checked all imputs on tv etc and still no signal.

anyone offer any advice?

Are you connected to a HDMI port connected to the motherboard or to the video card? Also, have you tried a different HDMI cable?

did you enable that particular hdmi slot in the tv's control panel?

The MB dosnt have a hdmi port.
And I have cycled through all available imputs on the tv, my old pc worked fine via hdmi onthe same tv.

the motherboard doesn't have an hdmi slot but what about the video card?

Is the system producing an image on any display via any port?

the video card is a 7870. what's wrong with using that hdmi port?

That should be the only one on the system. I am trying to figure out if the HD7870 is displaying any image at all. Could be a funky port or cable. Could also be a driver issue that just requires re-installing or upgrading to the current drivers to resolve.

I thought he was concentrating on the motherboard because that's where the connection was on the old machine........ totally ignoring the video card in the new one and what it's there for.

Understood. I suspected something similar earlier in the thread as well (thought there was a possibility of connecting to a mobo HDMI port vice the GPU port). Turns out the OP's mobo does not have its own HDMI port (like many doe these days).

I have the same problem with a 7970. Just tried to install it today and no signal. Don't know if it's drivers, the tv, the HDMI cord, or the GPU.

Your situation could be different as well. Be sure to post a complete listing of your system specs/config and describe what, if anything is displayed on any other ports.
