Hey guys,

This is my current build:

HD 4850 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150482
AMD Athlon II x3 455 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103872
ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131406
600W Power supply : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017
4GB RAM : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146748
DVD ROM : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136177
320GB Hard drive : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152244
Case : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042
Monitor : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254049

I am thinking about upgrading and I live to close to a Micro center. I mainly use this computer for gaming(cs:go and Dayz). Performance is OK in both games but I would like better. I was thinking I would upgrade the CPU and mobo now, and upgrade the graphics card later around black Friday or Christmas. I'd also like to eventually upgrade to a 120hz monitor. I'd like to spend $300 or less right now.

Will I see a huge performance boost with a 4670k and mobo(cheapest mobo on the list) for $283?

4670k : http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=583302
MOBO : GA-B85M-D3H LGA 1150 mATX Intel Motherboard : http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=706085

or am I better off with a FX 6300k and mobo for $165?

6300k : http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=006759
MOBO : http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=533182

Or should I upgrade the graphics card first?

Any help/guidance/recommendations is greatly appreciated.

You would see a very very noticeable performance increase with the 4670K. The motherboard you selected though I believe will not overclock the processor, so either pick a non-overclockable processor or pick a board that overclocks.

Just remember, if you upgrade the CPU/Mobo, you are going to have to reactivate/reinstall Windows.

Thanks for your help. Did a little research, will grab a Z87 mobo. Will probably go with http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=614800.
