I upgraded my video card from a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ to a XFX Radeon HD 7870. I have been running it with no problems for a couple months without ever uninstalling the NVIDIA drivers. Yesterday, I tried to connect my computer to my A/V receiver through HDMI but I wasn't getting any audio. I thought it may be because of the NVIDA drivers so I uninstalled all of them and rebooted. When Windows 8 should have started up, the screen went black and flashes between black and a slightly lighter black. I can still boot up connecting my HMDI directly to the MOBO. I have tried running Driver Sweeper and that did not help. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

roll back drivers? maybe system restore? maybe pull the amd and install the nvidia and install drivers then switch card back to amd?
drive sweeper is a last resort thing. too many people don't pay attention to what they're uninstalling and it almost always isn't needed.
